Creation process

I take strolls through the countryside to soak up its rhythm, colourfulness and energy. Nature speaks to me at every turn, sometimes through the branches of a tree, at other times it is a foggy morning silence along the Ohře river. It is a never-ending inspiration to observe the twinkling surface of the river or see colourful stories in the details of the grass and meadow flowers. It is no ordinary place, it is only necessary to get rid of the burden of practicality and focus on the essentials.

I try to process layered inspiration and create colourful compositions similar to the stimulation in the countryside. To achieve it, I like to use a large scale of tools to achieve it: paint brushes, spatulas, sprays, pastels, both acrylic and oil colours, etc.
When painting, I manage to transform emotions and experience in fast movements, and if it goes well, than the white canvas transforms into a stream of colours. This is always the most difficult part of the process. It is still very hard to keep the rhythm. Therefore, I often have to return to the paintings even several times. Some paintings are being worked on for months or years. Sometimes, I am not able to grasp the initial idea, at other times, the idea changes during the process and I have to start over from the beginning again.

At times, it is almost impossible for me to stop right here, right now. The final version of the painting either presents itself or I sense it as a never-ending story. Both ways ultimately achieve the same: the feeling of happiness that I enjoy a lot.
