My atelier is situated in the small village of Obora in the Czech Republic and I have been enjoying painting in the same place where I started. After a quarter century, I have returned to my hometown, where I grew up and attended schooI, where I learned the basics not only of drawing and painting but also of good manners and freedom of thought. Local art traditions have always been inspiring and it is only logical that homecoming to the first-stroke-of-the-brush countryside meant returning to joyful painting and artwork.
Not far from the place where we, students at that time, would eagerly listen to the archivist and where our painting teachers would walk along the river with easels, I can bring back memories and combine them with new impulses from the countryside. I want to share the positive energy that I sense in everyday life through my paintings. I want to offer nothing but colorful stories as they are filled with joyful inspiration and they are free from everyday pains. It is an escape to a unique world full of optimism, transferable from me to you.
